Expanding the Professional Staffing Business for Engineers

On May 12th, Meitec announced that the Company will establish a new department, the Market Development Promotion Office, on June 18th, 2015.

The Market Development Promotion Office will start its mission of promoting the research, study, and building business model and market expansion of the volume zone, a market of which Meitec Fielders and many other competitors are in, and other market area, the new market zone, according to our strategy of expanding the professional staffing business for engineers.
In another word, the unit will conduct market research regarding both engineering labor market surrounding Meitec and design and development market in manufacturing industry. And it is positioned as a specialized unit to plan and operate the strategy to coincide with the market trend, change, and needs of those markets.
Therefore, main target is the volume zone and new market zone. But if there are needs from both markets, the unit will But if there are needs from both markets, the unit will, neutrally, study possibility of business and services without limiting to a particular area.

For instance, low birthrate and longevity in Japan will accelerate now on. And needs of experienced engineers over 60 years of age will increase both in the labor market and design and development market. But work style of full time employment could not necessarily be a work style satisfied by those over 60 years of age. And there could be a case that the clients in the manufacturing industry may only want experienced engineer when only guidance and education is needed to their younger engineers.
For those engineers over 60 years of age, we can expect the work style to diversify. Therefore, we need to grasp the needs in both labor market and design and development market.



Also, it is important to not look at the market with preconceived ideas when we assess the new market. One of the major businesses we set in our mid-term management plan, along with the professional staffing business for engineers, is the recruiting & placement business for engineers. Although as we thought it would be difficult, introduction of high career engineer, over 50 years of age, which we are challenging is increasing 20% above our plan. This is an actual example of market needs is changing as both labor market and design and development market are changing.

The Meitec group management policy is to “realize affluent “Career Style of Engineer” together” and to be the “best partner to the clients.” For the Japanese manufactures to fully utilize their competitive advantage in the global society, we, the Meitec Group, wants to continue to be an entity that can provide engineers with needed technology as they are needed. And we also want to continue creating the opportunities and placement where Meitec group engineer can continue to work as lifetime professionals.

So, for more of our clients and more of the engineers to be able to take advantage of Meitec Group, we will discard the preconceived ideas, and assess the further possibility in the professional staffing business for engineers, aim to expand the opportunities and placement.
